Paola joined BerchWood in 2012 and has over 21 years of experience in investments, strategic consulting and institutional fundraising; and has focused on the alternatives asset class broadly across private equity/buyouts, growth capital, venture capital, infrastructure and sector-focused strategies. Paola is Head of the London office, and is responsible for origination efforts, leading fundraising assignments and maintaining Limited Partner relationships across Europe and the Middle East.
Paola joined from BNP Paribas, where she focused on originating and distributing private equity fund offerings to European institutional investors. Prior to moving to a pure marketing role, Paola was a co-founding member of Fortis' private equity fund-of-funds business, where she played a key role in establishing an asset management platform focusing on private equity buyout funds in Europe, which was later acquired by BNP Paribas. Paola also spent time advising Fortis Bank on various strategic private equity investments on its balance sheet.
Prior to that, Paola gained experience on the corporate buy-side for ABN AMRO in strategic business development for its global equities and alternatives business. Paola started her career as a consultant with Booz & Co in its Middle East practice.
Paola holds a B.Sc. in statistics and economics from University College London, a M.Sc. in operational research from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from INSEAD. Paola speaks fluent French and Arabic. She is registered CF30 by the Financial Conduct Authority.
